Biography
I am an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at IOE. I hold a PhD (DPhil) in Anthropology from the University of Oxford (2021). I also hold a MSc in Social Anthropology and an MPhil in General Linguistics and Comparative Philology, both from the University of Oxford.

I am a linguistic anthropologist and migration scholar. My work broadly explores themes of language policy, migration and displacement, language ideologies, time and temporality, labour and bureaucracy. My ongoing work is concerned with the relationship between language and labour market access among refugees and migrants in Germany, exploring how underlying societal expectations for linguistic integration, as well as bureaucratic and administrative procedures intersect with newcomers' own decision-making and future-building.
