Teaching Summary

Laura Vaughan teaches on the MSc/MRes Space Syntax at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. She was director of the MSc (when it was called Advanced Architectural Studies) from 2001-2009, when she ran several urban-related modules. She is currently responsible for the Spatial Justice module, which examines the interface between urban form and social outcomes. To explore these issues, the module presents research into the relationship between urban design and crime, poverty, health, environmental justice and other issues of urban and "disurban" space. She also has an interest in teaching innovation, for which she has published several pieces on the subject.

Laura has been a visiting lecturer at a number of universities in the UK, as well as in the Netherlands, Sweden and Israel.

Laura welcomes approaches from prospective PhD students who are seeking to undertake research that explores the social and economic logic of urban settlement patterns using space syntax.
