I studied law at the University of Westminster where I wrote my thesis on the free movement of people in the European Economic Area Agreement and the EU-Swiss bilateral framework. I then undertook voluntary work as the Specialist Adviser for EEA and Swiss Migrants at the Great Ormond Street Hospital Citizens Advice office. I spent over four years with the Pain Control Service at GOSH doing data management, programming and statistical analysis before coming to the UCL GOS Institute of Child Health. I obtained an MSc in Social Epidemiology in 2017 and a PhD in Epidemiology (off-rolling and exclusion of children with and without social care involvement using administrative data) in 2021.
I also have an interest in the active use of ancient languages, particularly Latin and Greek and I am fluent Latin speaker. I have taugh spoken Latin in UCL Living Latin and privately and I have produced a podcast about epidemiology and other learning materials in Latin.
My research focuses on administrative and secondary data analysis. Currently I am working on a range of projects, most notably on a study of chronic health conditions and school absence and attainment using the ECHILD database (all-of-England education and hospital data).
