Michelle completed a PhD (2005-2009) funded by the Economic and Social Research Council for a project that looked at the psychosocial antecedents to academic achievement. Since then, she has been involved in the development of taxonomy of behaviour change techniques (BCTs) as a method and tool for specifying, evaluating and implementing complex behavioural change interventions. She was also the lead researcher on an (NIHR) HTA funded mixed method review of behaviour change interventions that target children with attention deficient hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in school settings. Michelle is currently working on systematic reviews in public health and health promotion at the EPPI-Centre.

Michelle is also a qualified yoga teacher and offer classes to staff at UCL. For more info please follow the link:


Research Summary

I undertake evidence syntheses within the field of public health at the Evidence for Policy and Practice Information and Co-ordinating Centre (EPPI-Centre). I lead and collaborate on projects that synthesise evidence using mixed methodologies including quantitative and qualitative evidence. I have conducted reviews for the Department of Health and Social Care, National institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE), National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
