Research Summary

Prof. Carandini runs a joint research group with Prof. Kenneth Harris, the Cortexlab. His work aims to understand how the brain processes sensory signals, and integrates them with internal signals to guide decision and action. The goal is to understand these processes at the level of large populations of individual neurons. The laboratory investigates these questions with advanced experimental techniques and with computational analysis. Carandini is a founding member of the International Brain Laboratory.
