Biography

I graduated from the Department of Psychology,Sapienza, University of Rome with a MSc in ‘Clinical Psychology’ and a BSc in 'Developmental Psychology'. I received my PhD in ‘Clinical-Experimental Neuroscience and Psychiatry’ at the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry, Sapienza, University of Rome. I was trained in the clinical, functional, neurocognitive, social cognitive, and neurological soft signs assessment of young individuals. I have been based at the Department of Psychology & Human Development of the Institute of Education (IoE) since September 2017 where I am currently appointed as Lecturer.

Research Summary

My research interest is in clinically-oriented research fields related to children's and young adults’ mental health. I am particularlyinterested in the identification of biomarkers that are predictive of mental health disorders and cognitive deficits in children and adolescents. I am involved in several research projects which aim to explore the role of psychological, biological and cognitive factors in mental health outcomes. I currently am the Early Career Researcher (ECR) on the project Building PACE (Physical Assessment of Children’s Environments).

Teaching Summary

My teaching areas focus on the principles of research, quantitative methods for studying topics that are relevant to psychology and clinical psychology through supervision of undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral level students. I am currently subsidiary supervisor of two PHD students. I lead and teach the Psychological Research module (PHDE0002) and the Cognitive Psychology module (PHDE0006) . I also teach for Research Methods and Statistics (PHDE0056), Building Mental Health Resilience in Education (PHDE0085) and for Contemporary Issue in Educational Psychology (PHDE0080) modules.
