Biography

I am an Associate Professor in Biomedical Statistics/ Data Science at the MRC unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing at UCL. I hold a BSc in Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences, an MSc in Statistics and a PhD in Epidemiology. I have worked at the Hellenic Health Foundation and the University of Athens for 7 years(2008-2015). I have also worded at the Institute of Health Informatics at UCL as a Research Fellow and a Senior Research Fellow from December 2015 to February 2022.

Research Summary

My research focuses on the application of causal inference methods in observational data to improve human health. I have worked on the use of instrumental variables to tackle unmeasured confounding and g-methods to account for time-dependent confounding when using observational data. I am also interested in emulating target trials using observational data.I have also created a YouTube channel to explain my research to non-experts.
