Biography

My area of research is 'children in the digital age' within the general field of Early Childhood, Digital Technologies and Learning. Specifically, I am interested in understanding how the personalities and identities of young learners are structured and developed and what the role of technology is within this context. Additionally, I am interested in the comprehensive standards of interactive technologies and how these can have a positive impact on children's futures.

The position I currently hold

Lecturer at King Abdul-Aziz University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Faculty of Human Sciences and Design. Department of Childhood Studies.

Research Summary

My doctoral research centres on the role of interactive virtual reality (VR) technology during inclusive play between young children. For this work, I have employed a novel lens to examine VR: qualitatively exploring whether VR can improve achievement and foster the effective development of young learners. In addition, this work represents an innovative preliminary approach for future research concerning the influence of VR on essential aspects of early childhood development.

Supervising Team: Prof Evangelos Himonides and Dr Ross Purves.

Teaching Summary

My Primary lecturing activity has been supporting the undergraduate Childhood Studies programme at King Abdul-AzizUniversity where I have contributed to a plethora of courses,  seminars and interactive tutorials over the years.
