Biography

I'm a postdoctoral research associate in Evolutionary Biology at the Center for Biodiversity and Environmental Research in the Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment. I work with Judith Mank focused on the evolution and genomic distribution of adaptive traits.

I received my PhD in 2017 from University of York having worked on the ‘The repeatability of evolution; colour pattern control in Heliconius butterflies’. Prior to this I did a Research Masters at UCL working with Julia Day, and a BSc in Zoology from the University of Sheffield.

Research Summary

My research is focused on the evolution and genomic distribution of adaptive traits. Male guppies show remarkable diversity in colour patterning both within and across watersheds, and many of these colour loci are thought to be Y-linked. I am using genomic methods and automated image processing to identify the genomic locations of adaptive loci.
