I hold a BA in European Studies from Maastricht University and an MA (double degree) in Euroculture from University of Goettingen and Jagiellonian University Krakow. I completed my PhD, "Constructing the Other: Polish and Russian Perceptions of Germany between Media and Individuality," at University of Birmingham. 

I have previously taught courses at University of Birmingham, King's College London and at CAPA - The Global Education Network. 
Prior to my PhD, I worked in international academic cooperation, for the University of Bonn and for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Research Summary

In my research, I use social constructivist and interdisciplinary approaches for understanding politics and society in Central and Eastern Europe. I have previously worked in and on Poland, Belarus and Russia. My main interest is in constructions of national and European identities in these countries, using discourse and narrative methodologies. I am also interested in democratisation, de-democratisation and populism as well as migration.
