Nadia has a proven track record within the pharmacy profession and is the UCL Global Pharmacy Ambassador. As well as having a well-known reputation within the pharmacy profession in the U.K, Nadia has also built a global reputation for herself in countries such as Pakistan, UAE, Oman, Poland, Greece, Brazil, Portugal, Italy and Belgium where she has advocated the role of the pharmacist in the U.K.
She has been recognised for her outstanding contributions to the profession by the pharmacy professional body, The Royal Pharmaceutical Society and is the youngest female and youngest Asian to be awarded the status of Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. She was the first Muslim woman to have been elected onto the National Pharmacy Board for England, which sets the strategy for the profession and influences on a government level.
Importantly, Nadia uses her platform to be a vocal and prominent advocate for women’s rights and is an ambassador and on the Board of Trustees for Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE); a charity organisation supported by the government of Pakistan which promotes gender equality in education. In this advocacy role she is currently involved in a huge national project to get more girls going to school in Pakistan. In addition, she has launched the National Alliance for Women in Pharmacy in Pakistan (NAWP) to promote gender equity nationally for female pharmacists.
Following this, Nadia has been appointed as the Global Lead for Gender Equity at the Workforce Development hub for the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and is the Chief Pharmacist and Gender Lead for Pakistan’s leading telemedicine organisation, doctHERs.
Leadership in Pharmacy is Nadia’s research area of interest and is currently in her final year of study for her PhD.
Nadia’s outreach is wide. She has access to many young pharmacists and is accessible to them through many of her networks. In particular, via her role as an educator for pharmacy undergraduates to her position as Chair for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society national conferences, Nadia directly interacts with almost every trainee pharmacist in England. Her social media presence globalises this interaction on a huge scale.
Nadia is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Nadia is very conscientious and strives to be the best she can be. Teaching and training undergraduates and pharmacists has always been a passion and a drive for Nadia. She always looks for avenues on how to excel her teaching and improve the practice of pharmacy globally.
