Research Summary
My main research area is risk and protective factors for mental health across life course. I have been working on alcohol use and misuse in adolescent and adulthood. Social relationship is another factor that I have been investigating in relation to mental health. My most recent work is UK-Japan ageing health. I am in the process of publishing my work that examined sleep and depression among older adults between Japan and England.
I am experienced users of UK secondary data such as NCDS, BCS70, ELSA, and Understanding Society. My aim is to promote research capacities of early career researchers in UK and Japan by developing research networks between them via my affiliation with a Japanese university.
