Norah's current research interests include: social competence in children, factors influencing inclusion and belonging in school, in particular for children with special needs and disabilities, and problem based learning in professional education. Publications and conference presentations include the following areas: the practice of educational psychology, continuing professional development for educational psychologists, effective in-service training, stress in schools, evaluating inclusive practice and educational innovations, developing children's social skills, psychological assessment, web-supported teaching for Educational Psychologists in Training, applications of systems theory in education.
In 2000, Norah received a UCL Faculty of Life Sciences award for Teaching. Norah co-directs and teaches primarily on the 3-year professional training Doctorate in Educational and Child Psychology, as well as the 4 year part-time CPD Doctorate in Educational Psychology and the 3rd Year psychology undergraduate course in Psychology and Education. She has co-authored leading text books on special needs for educational service professionals and students, and on educational psychology for psychology undergraduates. She is also an undergraduate and PhD supervisor within the Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology.
