I was born in India, and grew up in N Ireland. I went to Queen's University, Belfast and I had post-doctoral training in Boston and in London.
I worked for 23 years as Head of Neuropsychology at the Wessex Neurological Centre in Southampton, and then for 7 years as Head of Neuropsychology at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.


My main research interests are in human memory disorders, with two themes being transient epileptic amnesia and memory rehabilitation.
I also have an interest in paradoxical phenomena in clinical neuroscience.
I am involved in collaborations with Neuropsychologists in India on executive functioning in dementia and memory in the blind
I teach and supervise on the Clinical Psychology Training programme.
