Prof Nikolaos Konstantinidis

Professor Nikos Konstantinidis is a particle physicist and has been at UCL since 2002, having previously obtained his PhD at Imperial (1995) and conducted postdoctoral research at CERN, UC Santa Cruz and CPP Marseille. His research work is currently within the ATLAS experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC), where he has pioneered searches for new physics through the process of Higgs boson pair-production, and has been playing a leading role in the R&D towards the ATLAS detector upgrades for the high-luminosity LHC programme, being joint-coordinator of the ATLAS Hardware Track Trigger project. 

In 2016-19, Professor Konstantinidis was Principal Investigator of ATLAS-UK, the UK's largest scientific collaboration and is currently Co-Director of the STFC Centre for Doctoral Training in Data Intensive Science at UCL, the first ever such Centre to be funded by STFC. He is also Vice-Dean International in the UCL MAPS Faculty since 2014, and currently co-Chair of the UCL - University of Toronto steering group and member of the UCL China Steering group and the North America steering group.
