Biography

Nadine is currently completing her PhD at UCL’s Department of Security and Crime Science. She is also a Senior Research Associate at Lancaster University’s Psychology Department.


Nadine holds a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Crime Science from UCL. Her previous academic research has focused on deception detection in police interviews, and on the relationship between terrorism and organised crime. Nadine has also previously conducted research on terrorism, human trafficking, migrant smuggling and cybercrime with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Royal United Services Institute, and the National Crime Agency. She is also a member of JDI Open, an open science journal club and peer mentoring group at UCL. Nadine is also a graduate member of the British Psychological Society.

Research Summary
Nadine's research focuses on violent extremism risk assessment and management, risk and protective factors, and practitioner decision-making. She has conducted research funded by the European Research Council, the Centre for Research and Evidence on Security Threats, and Public Safety Canada.

Teaching Summary

Nadine has given guest lectures and worked as a postgraduate teaching assistant on a variety of modules at UCL. These include:
