Biography
Mai joined UCL as a Msci student in September 2013 at the department of Mathematics and continued her PhD at the department of Statistical Science. Towards the end of her PhD, she moved to the department of Applied Health Research to work in the field of Early Cancer Detection.
Research Summary
Mai is interested in Riemannian geometry and stochastic processes. Past work is on inference for regresion on Lie groups and stochastic differential equations (SDEs) on manifolds and their applications. Mai is also interested in statistical models and simulation methodologies applied in Cancer Early Detection Research, particularly multi-state models.
Teaching Summary
Mai has helped teach various mathematics/statistics modules, e.g. Mathematics for Natural Sciences, Introduction to Probability and Statistics, Probability and Statistics, Stochastic Methods in Finance, Regression Modelling. She has also worked as a personal tutor for the Social Epidemiology programme.
