Biography

Oliver is Research Fellow in Building Stock and Energy Modelling at the UCL Energy Institute. His current work focuses on the development of visualisations and interfaces for a national-scale digital twin, the 3DStock model. This is a large-scale analytical model of building stock and energy performance for England and Wales. Modelled in three-dimensions it has been designed to better inform policy and decision-making concerning NetZero strategies and the reduction of carbon emissions in the built environment.

Oliver's prior PhD research investigated the practical applications of internet of things (IoT) sensing technologies as part of an operational, end-to-end digital twin deployment, the Here East Digital Twin. The Here East Digital Twin and wider PhD was an EPSRC and Ordnance Survey funded project, undertaken at The Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA), UCL. The project also involved participation as a member of the Intel Collaborative Research Institute for Urban IoT (ICRI).

More recently Oliver has worked as research assistant on the Innovate UK funded project, the AEC Production Control Room, with Mace and the Connected Environments Lab at CASA. Oliver also worked as data and training coordinator on the Building City Dashboards project for the National Centre of Geocomputation (NCG) at Maynooth University in Ireland.
