I hold a PhD in Civil Engineering of the University of Leuven, Belgium and MA in World Heritage Studies at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, Germany.
Among other professional activities, I’m a member of the Executive Committee of the ICOMOS International Scientific Committee CIPA Heritage Documentation and was appointed as the International Co-chair for ICOMOS GA2020 and GA2023 Scientific Symposia in Sydney. I’m also is serving as co-editor of the Journal of Cultural Heritage Management and Sustainable Development.
I enjoy collaborating with local professionals, government officials worldwide. Since 2010, I’ve been actively serving as advisor to the UNESCO Silk Roads World Heritage nomination.


I’m currently a research fellow of the Central Asian Archaeological Landscape (CAAL)
project at the Institute of Archeology.
I was originally trained as architect. Now my research explores the way in which digital technologies contribute to policy development, standards and guidelines for documentation and monitoring of heritage management.
