Obtained BSc (in Physiology, 1st Class, 2011), MBChB (Honours, 2014) from Birmingham Medical School and MRCP in 2016. Completed NIHR Academic Foundation Programme at University College London 2014 - 2016. Completed NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship in Neurology at University College London in 2016 - 2019. Since 2019 I have been undertaking a PhD on the Crick Clinical Fellow Programme.

I am a Neurology registrar and PhD student on the Francis Crick Clinical Fellow programme. I am supervised by Prof Rickie Patani and Prof Nick Luscombe. I am using computational techniques to examine how RNA processing breaks down in astrocytes and motor neurons in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). I utilise a stem cell model (iPSC) of human ALS astrocytes and motor neurons, to understand how changes in RNA processing (alternative splicing and polyadenylation) cause this disease. Through this I am trying to identify the earliest molecular detectable change in ALS in order to expose a viable therapeutic avenue.
I deliver lectures on a national preclinical basic science course and I write cases for national question banks. I also deliver clinical skills teaching at the bedside and help guide candidates preparing for the MRCP PACES examination.
