Research Summary

My current research explores the ethics of use of photographs representing human distress. This includes educational and global aspects of use. In terms of representation, it asks the question of where our sense of self ends, and what the answer means for our moral duties towards the photographic representation of others' distress.

Within ITET (initial teacher education) I have different areas of interest:
Foreign language teaching and learning, in particular Intercultural Understanding.
Teacher Presence, and Drama across the curriculum.
New Media in Education
Ethics in education.
