Biography
I am a Lecturer in Special and Inclusive Education and Psychology in the Department of Psychology and Human Development at UCL. I have extensive experience working in Higher Education. Prior to this I was a teacher, and am now committed to improving the research/practice interface. I was the Professional Development Co-ordinator for the UCL Maximising the Impact of Teaching Assistants project, which won the BERA Public Engagement and Impact Award in 2019.

My PhD incorporated education, applied linguistics and psychology to study the interactions between Teaching Assistants and pupils during literacy intervention sessions. I now write and publish both academic and practitioner texts in the areas of Teaching Assistant practice and preparedness.
Teaching Summary
I worked as a primary class teacher before moving into Higher Education. In a Higher Education context I have taught across a wide range of Post Graduate programmes. I also wrote the non-accredited professional development courses 'Maximising the Practice of Teaching Assistants', and have delivered these extensively for schools, school groups and Local Authorities.
