Biography

Before joining UCL, I was a Postdoctoral Prize Research Fellow at Nuffield College and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science (LCDS), both at the University of Oxford. I did my PhD in Sociology at the Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI), where I remain an affiliated researcher.

Research Summary

My research deals with educational inequalities and intergenerational mobility. Some ongoing projects concern social mobility from preindustrial times until today, the role of employers in intergenerational earnings transmission, and model robustness in social science. I have also done research on the consequences of COVID-19 school closures on children's learning.

Teaching Summary

In 2023/24 I will be the module lead for Social Inequality and Mobility (SOCS0045) and Social Change within Contemporary Society (SOCS0025), both within the BSc programmes Social Sciences and Social Sciences with Data Science.
