Research Summary
I am a computational biologist. My research may be classified into two distinct categories:
  • application of machine learning to biomedical problems; and,
  • innovative teaching and learning techniques.
Additionally, I specialise in Python, MATLAB, and JavaScript programming languages; and contribute to the open source community as much as I can.

In particular, my research topics and interests may be detailed as follows:
  • Multivariate data analysis using machine learning in EEG / ECoG / MEG and epilepsy (predictive studies, brain mapping, default mode network (DMN), and biomarker determination);
  • Mathematical and computational modelling of signalling pathways;
  • Medical image analysis (MRI and CAT scans);
  • Applications of the network theory to biomedical research;
  • Novel learning methods: learning through  algorithms;
  • Application of computational techniques in medical research;
  • Simplification of concepts for non-specialist audience (with reference to mathematics and computing);
  • Public understanding of science.
Teaching Summary
I am currently designing a module on Python Programming for Bioinformatics, targeted at post-graduate students and researchers in biological sciences.
