I am co-Director of the UCL Centre for Population Research in Sexual Health and HIV.

As a clinically-trained academic in public health
and infectious disease epidemiology, my research career has focussed on areas of public health priority: Tuberculosis
(TB), HIV/AIDS, TB/HIV coinfection, sexual health and STIs. I have developed a
cohesive programme of work that involves description and
analysis of patterns of infections and associated risk factors in populations;
molecular epidemiology; eSexual Health; and the development and evaluation of
complex interventions. I am internationally–recognised for leading teams that
produce innovative research that: (1) has clinical, public health and policy
relevance; (2) links behaviour and biology; (3) combines infectious disease
epidemiology with other disciplines; (4) spans developed and developing
countries; (5) is both methodological and applied.
