I studied at University of Glasgow, graduating with a BSc and MBChB in 2010. Following foundation training in Glasgow, I moved to London to start specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and having attained my membership examinations 2016, I currently work clinically as a Consultant.
I started working at UCL Medical School (UCLMS) in 2020 as an Associate Lecturer and in 2021, was promoted to the role of Academic Lead in Curriculum Mapping. Between April 2021-2022, I also worked in the Quality Assurance and Enhancement Unit, during which time I was involved in reframing the 'Raising Concerns' process. This was recognised in the 2022 Provost Education Awards, where the unit won an award for promoting openness and inclusion. In 2022, I was promoted to Clinical Lecturer (Teaching).
My other roles at UCLMS include being Chair of the Gender Equality Taskforce in the EDI Committee where I have been leading the strategic response to 'Tackling Misogyny and Gender Based Violence'. I was also a Personal Tutor to Year 1 students 2020-2022 and currently supervise on the Diploma MSc Course at the Royal College of Physicians and BSc Human Sciences programme.
I am also a member of the Workforce Planning group at the RCOG and completed my Masters (Distinction) in Clinical Education (MA) at Kings College London in 2021 on Attrition in Senior Obstetric and Gynaecology trainees. I was awarded Senior Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy in 2021 and Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators in 2022.
My Research Portfolio spans across the clinical and academic domain.
My published works involve research in Endometriosis, Menopause, Curriculum Maps and Attrition in Senior Obstetric and Gynaecology Trainees.
I have supervised several projects at the Medical School, including using virtual mock OCSEs to aid student learning and establishing the Gender Equality Network.
As a Specialty trainee I was involved in leading the education programme at my Trust for postgraduate doctors.
At UCL, I have been involved in designing several sessions, including a combination of in-person, synchronous and asynchronous learning events related to Obstetrics & Gynaecology, professionalism and tackling misogyny and Gender Based Violence.
I also supervised the student led project in establishing the 'Gender Equality Network', which provides an alternative platform for medical students to access information related to gender disparities in healthcare.
