Research Themes
Research Summary

My research interests are in life course epidemiology. I am interested in the methodology for the analysis of life course and longitudinal data and for cross-cohort comparisons, including data harmonisation.

Specific research topics are: how prenatal development, childhood and adolescent growth influence later health and ageing; the development and consequences of overweight and obesity across life; life course social inequalities in health; women's health. Much of my research uses data from the MRC National Survey of Health and Development, a birth cohort study consisting of individuals born in 1946, and other cohort and longitudinal studies.

Teaching Summary

I co-lead the Life Course Module on the BSc in Population Health.
