Rachael Maree Hunter provides advice and support on the health economics component of clinical trials for a number of departments in UCL, for Priment Clinical Trials Unit and the UCL hub of the London Research Design Service. She has conducted cost-effectiveness analyses for the Department of Health and NHS and has worked for the NHS on improving and monitoring the quality of mental health services.

She previously worked for Offender Health, Department of Health providing policy, strategic business and health economic advice to a number of government departments and co-ordinated the commissioning of the Offender Health Research Network. As a member of the Prison Drug Treatment Strategy Review Group provided advice of on the health economics and co-ordinated a research project examining service user views on prison drug treatment.

Her key research interests are economic evaluations relating to mental health, substance misuse and prisons.
