Biography

I have worked onthe epilepsy surgery programs at the Radcliffe Infirmary Oxford and the NationalHospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery London since 1995. I am currently the Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist on the epilepsy surgery program at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery and Head of Psychological Services at the Chalont Centre for Epilepsy. I am an Honorary Associate Professior at the Institute of Neurology, I have over 170 academic publications in epilepsy includingbooks, book chapters and journal articles.I serve on the the editorial boards of Epilepsy & Behavior and an an Assocaite Editor for  Neuropsychological Review and Epilepsy & Behavior Case Reports. I regularly review research grant applications for the Wellcome Trust, Brainwave, Epilepsy Research UK and other international grant giving bodies.

I serve as the research officer for the BPS Division of Neuropsychology executive.

I am the current chair of the ILAE Diagnotic Methods Commission

I was elected to the Board of Governers for the International Neuropsychological Society in 2020

Research Themes
Research Summary

My researchi nterests are focused on the impact of brain pathology and medications on  cognitive function, particularly in people with epilepsy. A neuropsychological assessmentis a long and often stressful procedure for anyone to undertake.I am committed to ensuring that the results of these investigations areutilised for the maximum possible benefit for every patient, particularly inthe surgical setting. It is this commitment to evidence based practice thatdrives my research endeavours.
