Research Summary

Ocular pharmacokinetics:

  • Development of a novel in vitro two compartment model of the human eye (PK-Eye) to drive the preclinical development of new therapeutic proteins, new formulations and to optimise the properties of a new type of protein therapeutics
  • Determination of in vitro in vivo correlations (IVIVCs) for ocular pharmacokinetics and biodistribution properties

Formulation Science for protein therapeutics, biologics and low molecular weight drugs:

  • Novel strategies for extending the duration of action of therapeutic proteins in the eye
  • Chemical-recombinant methods to prepare bispecific antibody mimetics

Expertise

Current research projects are widely based on drug delivery, ocular pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics and biodistribution properties, protein production and modification and has extensive knowledge on protein characterisation.

Teaching Summary
