Biography
I am a Lecturer (Teaching) in Social Psychology at the Thomas Coram Research Unit in the Social Research Institute at UCL. Previously I was employed as a Research Associate at the Centre for Family Research, University of Cambridge where I also completed my PhD and BA degrees. My PhD was supervised by Professor Susan Golombok and funded by the Wellcome Trust.
Research Summary
I am a qualitative social psychologist and my interdisciplinary research focusses on gender, identities and experiences in diverse family forms. My PhD explored the social experiences of trans and non-binary parents and gender-diverse adolescents within the UK. I have also conducted research with cis same-gender female couples who have used novel assisted reproductive technologies and cisgender, heterosexual individuals who co-parent with a friend or acquaintance.
Teaching Summary
In the current academic year (2022-23) I am a module leader for Families in Society (SOCS0027); a module co-leader for Social Psychology (SOCS0039) and a seminar leader for Introduction to Social Science Research (SOCS0022).
