I work on the TRADE Hub: https://tradehub.earth. My research focuses on understanding and minimising biodiversity impacts of production and international trade of agricultural commodities.
My interests revolve around the question of how social and economic dynamics affect biodiversity and ecosystem services.
I worked most recently at the WorldPop group at the University of Southampton, where I developed models of human migration in low- and middle-income countries. Until 2019, I was as a postdoctoral researcher at Aarhus University (Denmark), focusing on human-wildlife coexistence, and I earned my PhD in 2017 from the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (Germany) for work on systematic conservation planning and rewilding. I earned my MSc from Central European University (Hungary), and BSc in my home country, Romania.
