Teaching Summary
My philosophical interests lie at the 'Humanities' end of the subject. I currently offer courses entitled: Morality and Literature; Applied Ethics; and Sartre's Philosophy. Morality and Literature looks at the relationship between moral value and works of literature. Some of the questions considered in this course are: How does moral value differ from aesthetic value? How can we attribute moral value to a work of literature? Does the moral value of a work of literature affect its artistic value? Can works of literature be morally instructive?
