Building on more than two decades of experience, Stephen is currently working toward his PhD in Culture, Communication, and Media at University College London (UCL).

His area of research investigates workforce training in the burgeoning field of Construction 4.0 (the digitalization of the construction industry alongside the industrialization of construction processes) and the new enhanced skills required for the next generation of tradespeople. 

Before moving to London, Stephen worked as an independent creative consultant in brand strategy, management, and design with an emphasis on performing arts and entertainment organizations. Stephen has worked for Blue Man Group, Disney Theatrical Productions, and Serino/Coyne. He has managed client accounts that included Tony Award^®-winning productions and institutions such as Lincoln Center Theater and The Metropolitan Opera.

Independent of his studies, he currently serves as the President for London’s chapter of the Columbia Alumni Association. He is a member of Interaction Design Association (IxDA) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) plus its special interest group on computer–human interaction (SIGCHI).

Stephen holds a BFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and an MFA from Columbia University in the City of New York. Additionally, he completed a MicroMasters with the University of Michigan’s School of Information on User Experience Research and Design.
