Biography
Suman taught Mathematics in London schools for thirteen years, in that time he was a head of department and a lead practitioner. He moved into Higher Education in 2009 to be Course Director of PGCE Mathematics at LSBU. Joining the Institute of Education in 2012 he led the Teach First Mathematics PGCE for five years. He is currently involved in teaching on a number of programmes, including the Secondary Mathematics PGCE and the Masters in Mathematics Education.
Suman’s research interests include ‘critical mathematics education’ and ‘policies, practices and principles in teaching mathematics’. He completed a Doctorate in Education in 2018.
