Research Summary

The life history of a cancer cell population can be described by the heritable traits of the population changing in response to selection pressures through time. This evolutionary/ecological perspective provides a framework for understanding how cancer cell populations behave and change across time, especially through as the disease progresses and acquires new traits like therapy resistance or metastatic capability. I am working on developing new transgenic models and tools like CRISPR libraries to study the evolution of cancers.
