Biography
I am a teaching lecturer at the Cancer Institute, UCL with fellow status at the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Topics I teach range from scientific skills to molecular and cellular biology within both a normal and cancerous setting. Active areas of interest include cancer genetics and metastasis.
Research Summary
My prior research focus was deciphering how Wnt signalling regulates metastasis in solid cancers such as prostate, gastric and bile duct cancer, utilising both in vitro and in vivo techniques, in the hope of discovering novel therapeutic targets.  I have both first author and collaborative publications in Oncogenesis, Cancer Research, Cancer Discovery and the International Journal of Molecular Sciences and Cancer Letters.

I completed my PhD project in the division of cancer and genetics at Cardiff University, which involved identifying mechanisms driving castration resistance in prostate cancer.

Teaching Summary

I have experience teaching and supervising students from level 3 to 7. I am currently the module lead for two core modules on the MSc Cancer course, as well as co lead for the cancer research proposal module and dissertation module. Additionally I teach on other UCL MSc programmes such as MSc Nutrition and MSc Human Tissue Repair.

Further I provide both pastoral care and academic advice as a personal tutor. I was awarded the HEA fellowship in 2020 and I am continuously adapting my teaching to provide the best learning experience, catering to all learning styles at UCL.

I am a strong advocate for promoting higher education to students and successfully completed two placements with the Brilliant Club.
