I am a PhD student based at University College London with a background in medical anthropology. I am part of the Interdisciplinary Network on Dementia Using Current Technologies (INDUCT). I previously graduated with a MSc in Social and Cultural Anthropology from KUL (Leuven, Belgium) and University of Copenhagen (Denmark), and a BSc in Sociology and Anthropology from ULB (Brussels, Belgium) including a fellowship at McGill University (Montréal, Canada).
My current research considers how society’s
representations of ageing, dementia, and cognitive decline influence the
development of technologies for dementia. Among other, I consider how
western imaginaries of health and ageing have influenced our cultural
understanding of dementia and the solutions that we propose to the
challenges associated with this condition. My research is part of the
INDUCT network and includes access to research sites and participants
through 4 collaborations: with the PROTECT Study in the UK (King's
College London), The Pride Study (UCL), Alzheimer Europe (Luxembourg),
and the INTRAS Foundation (Spain).
I am member of the
committee for the UCL Qualitative Health Research Network (UCL QHRN). We organize seminars, working groups and conferences to support a network of researchers across faculties at UCL and beyond, that are interested to use qualitative methodology to explore health matters in their own studies.
