I am a lecturer and researcher at UCL Institute of Education working across departments and member of the Bloomsbury Colleges Educational Neuroscience Centre Research Group. My research and teaching are interdisciplinary within the field of educational neuroscience. I use mixed methods phenomenology and participatory approaches to my research focusing on social neuroscience informed design and evaluation of education interventions to support socio-emotional cognition, mental health (emotion regulation), and academic learning in children with and without autism diagnosis. I have experience of supporting education practitioners’ evidence-based practice through inquiry-based learning, from early years to KS5. My current research projects are: UnLocke project funded by Education Endowment Fund/Wellcome Trust (www.unlocke.org), Youth MHFA (London) Evaluation funded by the Young Londoners Fund, Mayor of London (https://mhfaengland.org/mhfa-centre/news/thriveldn-youth-mhfa-schools/) and, Design and Effectiveness of a socio-emotional Learning tool for children with autism funded through UCL Seed Funding. Qualifications: PhD Biological Sciences (King’s College London); MSc Neuroscience (Institute of Psychiatry); BSc Biological Sciences (Kings College London); Qualified Teacher - QTS Science (Brunel University & St Mary's College - West London GTP Partnership).

Synopsis of Current Research Interests
My research focus is in drawing upon developmental social neuroscience and guided play pedagogy to design and evaluate technology-based interventions for social-emotional cognition, mental health (emotion-regulation) and academic progress in children with typical development and children with development symptoms associated with autism (social communication and interaction). I use mixed methods phenomenology utilising school-based participatory approaches, randomised control trial experiment, social network analysis and, educational, behavioural, and cognitive measures. I am also interested in combined educational, psychosocial and pharmaceutical intervention design and evaluation to support management of emotion dysregulation due to autism symptom severity for mental health.
