1987, PhD in modern Russian literature 'Venedikt Erofeev Moskva-Petushki or "The rest is silence"', Lausanne University, Switzerland
1982, BA in Slavonic Languages and Literature, East European History and History of Art, Basel University, Switzerland
1973, MA (equivalent) in History of Art, The Hermitage, Leningrad
1972, BA in History and History of Art, University of Leningrad

My first education was in History and History of Art
and these both fields remain of great interests to me. Coming to the West, I
changed my professional field, teaching and researching Russian language and
literature. I published first monograph on Venedikt Erofeev, the celebrated
author whose novel ‘Moskva-Petushki’ was forbidden in the USSR. I have written
and published a number of articles on different topics of Russian literature
and culture.
My current project is a monograph about the life and
writing of one of the greatest post-war Russian writers Georgii Vladimov,
winner of Russian Booker Prize of 1995.
I coordinate and enjoy teaching Russian MA courses at
SSEES which is a very interesting linguistic experience and a stimulating
intellectual occupation.
Courses currently taught:
SEESGR10, MA New Language: Russian
SEESGR32, MA Advanced Superior: Russian
