Susan joined the academic staff in the Bartlett School Planning in mid-January 2009. She has held previous posts within the School of City and Regional Planning at Cardiff University and the Department of Geography and Environment at the London School of Economics. Susan has an interdisciplinary background in human geography (PhD, LSE 2006), community planning (MES, York University 1999) and environmental studies (BES, York University 1997) which supports her current interest in sustainable urban development processes and practices. Prior to returning to academia in 2001 she was also employed in Canada as a professional planner (Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Province of Ontario), an environmental planner (Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority) and as a researcher and environmental policy and decision analyst (Office of the Environmental Commissioner for Ontario).
