Sarah’s research background is in understanding children’s healthy development and intervention evaluation. Her research interests surround the interplay of different systems (e.g. schools, families) in promoting the positive development of children, particularly in relation to transitions to school, cognitive and social development, and road safety.  Sarah is particularly interested in working with children and families from disadvantaged backgrounds. 

Sarah is also interested in intervention evaluation. She has worked in partnership with schools to advise on evaluation design in relation to teacher stress and to develop and evaluate education programmes for children and families, for example in relation to cyberbullying. 

At present Sarah is a Research Associate at UCL working on a project to identify and evaluate road safety interventions for parents of children under 11 years-old. In particular the project will focus on identifying ways to engage parents from socially deprived backgrounds. Sarah is also the PI for a project on road safety education for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
