Current


  • I am investigating ethnic differences in the use of statins, antihypertensive and anti-diabetic medication using large electronic health record databases.
  • I collaborate with colleagues from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the University of Bristol, the University of Liverpool and Queen Mary University of London on several other projects.



Previous


  • Using data from the Southall and Brent Revisited (SABRE) and UK Biobank cohorts, I have extensively investigated ethnic differences in obesity and hyperglycaemia, and how they map onto disease risks.
  • I coordinated the UK Biobank diabetes outcomes adjudication group, convened to create operational definitions of diabetes for the UK Biobank study.
  • Funded by the Royal College of General Practitioners Scientific Foundation Board (PI), I evaluated the effectiveness of cardiovascular prevention programmes in faith-based settings around London.
