Timan Lei studied in the Energy and Power Engineering department of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Top 10 in China) and obtained her BSc and MSc degrees in 2014 and 2017, respectively. She then completed her PhD at the Mechanical Engineering Department of University College London in 2021. After that, Timan Lei stayed at UCL mechanical engineering as a postdoctoral researcher working with Prof. Kai Luo.
Research Summary

She has developed parallel lattice Boltzmann (LB) method code packages (MPI- and GPU-based) for simulating reactive fluid transport in porous media at the pore scale and the REV scale. The developed LB codes have been used to study multiphysics problems such as coke formation and combustion, homogeneous reaction, dissolution reaction, frosting of humid air, desublimation-based CO2 capture, sequestration of CO2, and heat transfer.
