Research Summary

My main research interests are

  • Applied time series econometrics
  • Econometrics of structural breaks
  • Climate change econometrics
  • Energy economics
  • Monetary policy

Specific topics I am currently working on are: the impact of climate change on food production and prices, modelling the long-run trend in commodity prices, the use of SVAR models for the oil market, modelling the energy demand across industrial sectors, capturing parameter variation by structural break models and its application to monetary policy.

Along with Paolo Agnolucci and Theodoros Arvanitopoulos, we developed the econometric model of industrial energy demand that is used by the UK Government Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) for the 2016 energy and emissions projections (see document).
