I currently hold two roles at the IOE:

1.    MFL(Mandarin) PGCE tutor

In this role, my responsibilities include planning, teaching, assessing and managing the Mandarin Chinese PGCE tutor group. I also contribute to teaching across the MFL cohort. I guide and support MCh student teachers in their school placements by visiting them and monitoring their progress. My role as the Institute Tutor also involves quality assuring school-based training as well as advising and guiding  the placement school Subject Mentors.

2.    National Network Coordinator for Chinese Networks at the Confucius Institute:

In this role I provide support and advice to schools in our network on the teaching and learning of Mandarin Chinese, at both a strategic and a practical level, through curriculum support, teacher training and resource creation.

Previously I worked at the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT) as the National Network Coordinator for Chinese Networks supporting secondary and primary schools across England in establishing and maintaining the teaching and learning of Mandarin. Prior to my post at the SSAT, I taught in a school in the East Midlands as well as in a university in the northwest of China.
