Research Summary
My PhD is funded by UBEL DTP and Funexpected, who are an educational maths app company. In line this my research interests also includes the use of educational technology, such as touch-screen-based apps, to support mathematical development. As my PhD is co-funded by Funexpected, several of my PhD studies involve the use of log data and big data techniques to understand mathematical development from a large sample (over 3,000 children) across many countries (including the UK, Russia and China).
My PhD also researches developmental pathways of mathematical development. I have constructed a theoretical framework of domain-specific development of mathematics called EDMP (Early Developmental Mathematical Pathways).
I have a particular interest in big data and secondary data, and also in data analysis using R, python, and machine learning.
My PhD is supervised by Dr Jo Van Herwegen and Dr Laura Outhwaite. I am also a member of the Child Development and Learning Difficulties Lab.
