Efficacy of a nutrition and lifestyle digital intervention in women planning a pregnancy: a pilot randomised controlled trial in primary care. The aim of the pilot trial is to assess the acceptability, feasibility and efficacy of introducing a web-based educational intervention in primary care settings to improve preconception health in women planning a pregnancy. The web-based intervention (SmarterPregnancy) has been developed by colleagues in the Netherlands based on several years of periconceptional research with a focus on nutrition and lifestyle. We propose to conduct a pilot trial of SmarterPregnancy delivered by Health Visting teams within UCLPartners (UCLP) Academic Health Science Network.Women planning a pregnancy will be identified by Health Visiting Teams when they attend routine health checks (developmental reviews) at 8-12 months and 2.5 years after having a baby.
