Water-Energy-Food nexus; an optimisation based simulation modelling
The world is facing a more water constrained future as the result of urbanization, population growth, industrialisation and the emergence of climate change. This phenomenon will have direct impacts on the resilience and performance of the energy sector as water plays a key role in electricity generation processes. This research looks at the cross-disciplinary challenge of managing, modelling and analysing the interlinked and interdependent loop between water and energy, called the 'water-energy nexus'. The student develop a system to model, simulate and optimse this interaction considering the climate change impacts.
