The aim of this research is to examine the effect of recent transport investments, more specifically a Bus Rapid Transit System (BRT) launched in 2010, and current urban development policies on: changes in land use, mobility of low-income users, and spatial segregation in the Metropolitan Area of Barranquilla (AMBAQ), Colombia. AMBAQ comprises five municipalities and a population of over two million. The research will draw from primary and secondary data, and case studies in low-income areas with and without access to the BRT. The project is funded by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, Cambridge, MA, USA.
